The procedures used to aesthetically correct the nose, are probably the oldest, the most popular and the most frequently used in aesthetic surgery. It is very common for the nose to present a “hump” in the dorsum that makes it unattractive and out of harmony with the rest of the face.

The operation consists of providing proportions that makes the nose harmonious with the rest of the face as well as reducing the hump, elevating and projecting the tip, and reducing the size of the nostrils. On the other hand, when the nose is very small, it may augmented.

In most cases, all of the scars remain invisible due to the placement inside the nose. In augmentation nose surgery, it is sometimes necessary to harvest a rib graft that leaves a small scar in the patient’s thorax.

Even though this intervention is frequent and has minimum health risks, it is the surgery that most commonly provides unsatisfactory results to the patient who elects an unqualified surgeon. This is why it is very important to elect a qualified Plastic Surgeon and to speak very clearly of your expectations. By doing so, you may avoid many of the unwanted and unsatisfactory results.
